Austin Gardens
Austin Gardens is a 3.6 acre urban forest located adjacent to bustling commercial and historic districts within Oak Park. The Austin Gardens Environmental Education Center will be a LEED Platinum certified facility. Energy-Efficient and High Performance and sustainable design elements include:
- Geo-thermal system for heating, air conditioning and comfort control.
- Photovoltaic array on the roof to supply the projected energy needs of the building - net zero (uses sun energy)
- Greenroof - (absorbs rainfall, reduces heat loads, reduces carbon dioxide and produces oxygen.)
- Storm water harvesting through a cistern and diversion for toilet flushing.
- Raingarden/bioswales to absorb the cistern overflow and the excess rain run-off as a feature in the garden.
- Very energy efficient mechanical systems in the building.
Dole Library
Offering a cozy, relaxed "community living room" atmosphere in north Oak Park, we are on the first floor of the Dole Learning Center, sharing the building with the Park District of Oak Park.
By 1939 the building had changed hands twice more. In May of 1940 the North Branch extension of the Oak Park Public Library (originally housed at Fair Oaks Pharmacy at Ridgeland and Chicago), finally moved to the re-modeled, re-conditioned Dole building.
Go Yoga Studio
Located in an air-conditioned studio across from Caye International in the Exotic Caye Resort. Our studio has beautiful views on the caribbean sea in an open space with hard wood floors. This studio runs in co-operation with the San Pedro Fitness Club. All classes at this studio are free for SPFC members.
Check the calendar or our Facebook for special events, book readings, discussions on wellness and health all happening at the studio.
Las Terazzas Resort
Located about 4 miles north of San Pedro, we do yoga at many different locations at this world class resort. One is on the highest point of Las Terraza’s above the famous O restaurant. With bellowing ribbons to shade us from the sky we enjoy our Sun Salutations and flowing asanas above the activity of the resort.
We also hold classes right on the beach in the resorts garden just north of the main building. With the breeze of the sea and sand under your toes this is a bucket list experience for all yogi's. If you have never done yoga before this would be an amazing place to begin your journey into the world of yoga.
Serenity Spa and Wellness Center. Our Belize spa resort is here to help you relax to the fullest and embrace life in tropical paradise! Exfoliate with a Azucar Crudo Body Polish, get refreshed with a UnBelizeable Facial or melt away stress and tension with a hot stone massage at Las Terrazas Resort. Our Ambergris Caye resort & spa offers massage services as well as facials and body treatments.
Caribbean Villas Hotel
Out on a dock over the sea is one of the most refreshing locations for yoga. Feel the waves of the sea under you as your float away in your savasana. Located just a stones throw south of town, Caribbean Villas is a very family friendly resort with the islands only giant water slide El Diablo. After class the bar opens with refreshing smoothies to cool you off. Caribbean Villas is also host to the SAN PEDRO SAILING CLUB. Learn to sail a hobie cat or lazer or simply rent a paddle board or kayak and venture out to the reef.
Ramons Village
Ramons Village is just south of the San Pedro Airport. A sanctuary nestled in a tropical garden of Royal Palms, bougainvillea, lilies, hibiscus and dozens of other types of tropical flora. Surrounded by the plant life are Mayan sculptures that provide a glimpse of the civilization that preceded us in this Caribbean paradise.
We do yoga on the shady sandy beach, under a palapa on decking or in the middle of this little slice of paradise.
